Plan a 5 day trip to Park City
Planning your next winter vacation should be simple and fun. Park City Mountain is the perfect place to hit the slopes and enjoy many other activities with friends and family.
Day one – Arrival
Your arrival in Park City is quick and easy because Salt Lake City International Airport is a convenient 35 minutes from Park City Mountain. Once you arrive in Park City, you have tons of lodging options that www.SnowTrax.com offers for all budget types including The Yarrow Hotel and Conference Center, Best Western Landmark Inn or one of the hundreds of condos offered by ResortQuest; many of which offer complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport and resort. No need to rent a car, as there is a free bus that runs on 5 different routes, every 20 minutes, from 7 am to 1 am.
Day two – Hitting the slopes
Now that you have had a good night’s rest, it’s time to grab a hearty breakfast and hit the slopes! What’s convenient about Park City is that you have a pick of three different mountains to choose from which make up the entire Park City area. There’s Park City, which boasts 16 lifts and 114 trails offering a mix of levels for everyone. There is also a huge terrain park and tons of pipes for snowboarders. If you brought the kids along, set them up in one of the Kids Signature Programs the resort offers for multiple age groups of beginning skiers teaching fun and safety. Deer Valley offers 6 different mountains for skiing and snowboarding. If you are into elegance and paying the higher prices for more enjoyable things, this is the mountain for you. The Canyons is the perfect mountain if you are looking to improve your skiing ability. This mountain gives you 3,700 acres of unlimited skiable terrain.
Day three – Après Ski
Tonight after you ski, enjoy some of the nightlife options offered in Park City, ranging from bars, lounges and restaurants that offer live music selections. Check out Legends Bar and Grill which is known for many of its signature dishes and is the most popular après ski spot in Park City. On the quieter side, Adolph's – located in the newer section of town, offers a nice selection of piano music and a more relaxing environment. If you are into the entertainment arts, Egyptian Theater features wide varieties of shows from comedy selections and dramas to other amusing competitions that get audience members involved.
Day four – Other activities at Park City
Today is a perfect day to try some of the other activities that Park City has available. At the Utah Olympic Park, which hosted the 2002 Olympics, you can experience some rare winter sports such as ski jumping, luging and bobsledding. Other activities include snowmobiling, dogsledding, snowshoeing, hot air ballooning and fly fishing. Not all of the activities are offered daily, so it’s your best bet to give the park a call in advance to get pricing and schedule a reservation. There is no reservation fee though and most of the activities offer a free shuttle. Take the afternoon out to relax by visiting the Serenity Spa by Westgate at the Westgate Park City Resort. Full spa and salon services, a fitness facility, exercise studio and yoga studio are all available here.
Day five – Historic Park City
Of course since this is your last day, it must be filled with tons of skiing or snowboarding. When you break for lunch, set up a Historic tour of Park City’s mining town and in more recent history, the 2002 Olympics – which will give you the chance to ski some of the same slopes the Olympic champs did. Before you leave, be sure to wave goodbye to Park City from the town’s lift that takes you over the town’s historic Main Street. Pack up and grab a bite to eat on the Mountain before the shuttle comes to take you to the airport for your trip back home. Until next time Park City…
